The New Chocolate Gal in Town

I know there are a lot of chocolate blogs out on the web.  So what makes this one different?  The fact that its Chocolate on the Beach!  So hop on you beach towel, unwrap your favorite chocolate treat and enjoy the waves!

While writing, I’m nibbling on some chocolate, candy covered sunflower seeds.  I love the combination of sweet and salty.  They are the perfect size for a late night fix.  My Soul Sista, Vernita from Copalis Beach, WA gave me a bag to try.  You can find them at most stores that carry bulk foods.

Emily’s Part II

With the help of the North Beach community, Emily’s Confections moved, remodeled and opened on the 4th of July!  They are now East of the old shop at 40 Main St., Pacific Beach, WA 98571.  The new shop is mmmuch bigger, with a lovely sitting area for sipping lattes, munching pastries and nibbling on Jim’s fudge.

It was amazing seeing all those people working so hard to get them open during the holiday weekend.  They literally worked through the nights.  They have big plans for the new shop.  Pop by and see the new place!

Emily’s Confection, Gone but not Forgotten

We here at Pacific Beach have just suffered a huge loss.  We had the most wonderful fudge shop on our little Main St.  It was called Emily’s Confections, and was named after a beautiful little granddaughter.  I was looking so forward to writing about Jim Earp’s wonderful array of fudge made with such love and ingenuity.  I may be PB’s Chocolate Lady, but he was our candy man!  The loss of this little slice of paradise will be felt throughout the North Beach Community and beyond.  It is my hope and prayer, that they will return once more, to tempt our tastebuds with Jimmer’s new creations.

Happy Father’s Day!

What man doesn’t like chocolate?  My husband is a major chocoholic.  For him tho’, its all about the texture.  Toberlone, Kit Kat & Baby Ruth bars.  When I get chocolate for him, I make sure it loaded with lots of crunchy bits.  He is however picky about the kind of chocolate he eats.  He loves milk chocolate, while his dad loves dark chocolate.

I love to see all the gimmicky chocolates that come out for Father’s Day.  I don’t think there is anything that can’t be molded out of chocolate.  Fish, tools, sport paraphernalia the possibilities are endless.  One of my favorites is the  chocolate Swiss army knife with the real Victorinox logo.  The wrapper resembles the Spartan Swiss Army Multitool.  The shell is made from what else but Swiss chocolate, the filling is a creamy hazelnut praline.  I ordered one of these for Jon because he is such a big fan of Swiss army knives.  I think the taste would please most, but I honestly didn’t think it was anything earth shattering.  However, the design was well thought out.  I’d give it  out of 5 chocolate shells.
